On my third day in Oahu I woke up early as always and hopped into the rental car to explore as much as I could along the east side of the island. I didn’t do too much research before coming to the island and left most things open ended. This is normally how I travel. Today was about stopping whenever I saw something cool or just Googling interesting things on route.
Waiāhole Beach Park
The first stop of the day was Waiāhole Beach Park where you can sit down and watch the sun shine its first rays over the ocean with Mokoli’i in the background. I came here for sunrise and this place did not disappoint. The roosters were letting out their morning call from the houses across the street. Eventually locals and tourists started to trickle into the water for fishing, morning exercise and relaxing. I then left and headed to my next stop along the Kamehameha Highway.
